Written exam prep for crane rental and construction crews

See where each person stands against NCCCO's published outline before you pay for training or book an exam seat.

What your team can use today

  • A free check per exam, scored by domain
  • A study plan built around each person's exam date
  • A one-page reimbursement request your staff can send to a manager

Questions are original, written to the published content outline, and every answer key is re-checked by a separate blind solve.

1. BaselineEach person takes the free check for the exam they are sitting next.
2. FocusTheir results name the weakest domain, so study time goes where it is needed.
3. ReimburseIf you fund prep, staff can generate a request letter with the cost and reasons.

This page is for supervisors and training managers who buy exam preparation for crane operators. Boom Angle prepares one person at a time for the NCCCO mobile crane written exams. A crew order is the same course bought for several people, quoted and invoiced by hand.

Match the course to the crane

NCCCO mobile crane certification has written and practical exams. On the written side, each operator takes the Core exam plus one specialty exam for each crane type: Lattice Boom (LAT), Telescopic Boom Swing Cab (TLL) or Telescopic Boom Fixed Cab (TSS). Boom Angle covers the written exams only. It does not prepare anyone for the practical exam, which is done on a crane with an examiner, and it does not cover Service Truck Cranes. The specialty exams guide shows how the exams differ.

Load charts carry the most weight on both the Core and specialty written exams, and reading one correctly is a skill that takes repetition. Boom Angle practice uses clearly labeled fictional charts for lattice and telescopic booms, not a manufacturer's chart.

Check each operator's crane types and your jurisdiction's rules before you buy. The crane operator license by state guide lists where a state or city requires certification.

What each seat gets

A seat is one person's access to one course. Each course includes:

  • A question bank with each answer key checked by an independent second solve
  • Timed practice exams
  • A lesson for each domain in the published NCCCO outline
  • A study plan built from the person's exam date

Each operator can try the free 10-question check first. It shows a score by domain without signing up, so a supervisor can see where study time is needed before paying for seats.

How quotes and invoices work

The crew prices below are per seat. The price depends on crew size: one rate for 3 to 9 seats and a lower rate for 10 or more. The table shows the exact figures.

  1. Send the form. Give us your name, work email, company, the exam and the number of seats.
  2. Get a quote by email. A person at Boom Angle replies with a quote.
  3. Pay by invoice. We invoice by hand. There is no checkout for crew orders.

Crew orders are handled by email. We do not offer seat assignment, a roster or a team dashboard. Each person works through their own course, and you track progress in your own crew plan.

Common questions

Can I see how my crew is doing?

Not in one place. Boom Angle has no team dashboard. Ask each operator to share their free-check score and study-plan progress, and record it in your training file.

Can I pay for one operator without a quote?

Yes. A single course is a one-time payment on the course page. If your employer is paying, tick "My employer is paying" at checkout and we email a receipt you can expense. The terms cover refunds for individual purchases.

Does the course replace the practical exam or site training?

No. Boom Angle is written exam preparation only. NCCCO sets the requirements and issues the credential, and your employer decides who may operate a crane.
